THE PLACES TO VISIT ARE

• The Mar Menor - 20 minutes
• La Manga Golf Course - 45 minutes
• Los Alcazares - seaside resort on the Mar Menor favoured  by the Spanish for their August break - 20 minutes

• Town of Murcia - 45 minutes, with is cathedral dating from 1358, museums and  art galleries. The casino which opened as a gentlemen's club is interesting

• Alicante - 45 minutes, has churches, art galleries, good shops and a seafront market.

           SHOPPING

The nearest supermarket, bank and wine shop are about a mile away - certainly within walking distance. There are plenty of supermarkets all offering an excellent range of produce. Street markets abound and there is one somewhere virtually every day of the week selling food, clothes and souvenirs. There is a good fish market in Torrevieja.

          RESTAURANTS

There are lots!!!! The nearest is in the golf course club house. The Villa Martin Plaza has a variety of restaurants and bars (as well as a supermarket) and there are plenty in the surrounding area.

           BEACHES

There are excellent beaches within a 5 minute drive - Dehesa de Campoamor which has a small marina and bar (water-sports are are available here).
Cabo Roig - walk along the cliff path and you will find some small coves - continue to the beach at La Zenia with bars and restaurants. All are Blue Flag beaches, safe and very clean. Nearby is the Orihuela Club which has an Olympic sized swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, restaurants and bar.
